I'm following the same course. But as I recall, I think Eben said that the cutoff for number of activities was 2. So 2 we can do, but anything more becomes a compromising situation.

Multitasking is generally complete fail, however once you stop multitasking you're able to better identify a few things where you can multitask for benefit.

For example, when I'm brushing my teeth, I'm only using one hand so I use the other to do 'push-ups against the wall' - it doesn't distract me from doing a good job of brushing my teeth and having timed myself it doesn't take any extra time. The real benefit kicks in on mornings where I'm running late and choose not to do the full exercise - at least I'm getting some exercise in whilst brushing my teeth.

Hey thanks for stopping by. Yes I am starting to think that maybe Eben is right after all (Don't tell him I admitted that). Focusing on one task at a time would probably be better for me. Having a hard time breaking out of the multitasking mindset....especially since the whole world around me is based on multitasking. I recently started turning off my ringer when I am busy with a task and all hell broke loose. People hate when you don't answer their calls....they'll get over it..lol

Hey I practise vocals too... I used to combine vocals with browsing the net or arranging my desktop and hard drive... I later realised that even though i was doing the vocals alright, the warmth, depth and roundedness of the voice went missing...

I have found that instead of fractured focus, it is better to do one complete task at a time...meaning full time slots with no breaks... For example : You can combine a 90 minute fitness training slot with hearing some audio tapes etc... but the idea is to give entire time slots to one major activity... I have four major routines i do every day and 5 minor activities that I do in half hour slots whenever i can find them...it keeps me productive...
