Well it took cable guy all day to get the cable straight.  It kept raining on and off and I feared it wouldn’t get done today.  But finally it’s fixed!  I am watching the end of Khloe and Kourtney….Scott is totally getting on my nerves…Kourtney better go!  And any moment the premiere of keeping up with the Kardashians will start!  I would have been so upset if I missed it.  Also pretty interested in seeing the spin crowd at work since I am in PR myself.  K ya’ll  9:59 Gotta go!  It looks good!!!

So I was feeling really patriotic today, with it being fleet week and Memorial Day right around the corner. I always wanted a nice American flag posted out front.   But there are several options to consider. I usually get overwhelmed when I walk into a store. I don’t know what to ask or where to start.  Today I decided to do a little research online.    (I love the internet).  I found that making an investment into an American flag can be more involved than just deciding the size and type of pole I want.

First of all, there are traditions and etiquette to learn. For instance if you want your flag to stay out at night you must have it illuminated. My schedule is unpredictable and I’m sort of lazy so being in charge of hoisting and removing the flag everyday would be hard for me.

Plus I need to figure out what will fit nicely in my yard. Should I get one that stands tall in the ground or one attached to the side of the house like my neighbor? I don’t I have a place to hoist it on my house now that I think about it so i would have to get a pole.

But what size pole? I have a pretty good size yard, but also some big trees.  So I will have to work it in with the landscape. I’m thinking 12′ metal. (Hopefully no kids get their tongues stuck!)

I read that nylon is the most durable but I really want a cotton one….But,  since I’m lazy I must find one that is suited for all weather. So looks like it’s nylon for me.

I will need solar lights to illuminate it too. If I have to be here every evening to turn on the lights I will be in trouble. Ok I’m ready to order.

Out of all the sites I visited, I like American Flags the most. Their website is really clean and organized and the prices are great. Best of all their flags are made in America! They have a shopping guide that makes it easy to pick the flag that works for you.

So I think I’m ready!
